Lunch 2.0 @ Hitachi Data Systems

Lunch 2.0 is an event where various internet and web technology companies throughout the Bay Area open up their offices and invite people to join them for lunch and conversation.

a social phenomenon referring to a migration of web 2.0 company employees to other offices around the Silicon Valley area; characterized by open communication, decentralization of authority, freedom to share food and ideas, and “the lunch as a conversation”

The next Lunch 2.0 is going to be a big blowout that takes place Tuesday, September 12th at Hitachi Data Systems in Santa Clara. It is being organized by Hitachi Community Manager Jeremiah Owyang, who in addition to opening up Hitachi Data Systems’ beautiful high-tech Executive Briefing Center for lunch and socialization, has put together a mini “Web Expo” featuring 10 companies. He even has online music discovery service Pandora lined up as the “DJ”. The event takes place from 11:30am-2:00pm and if you think you’ll be attending, please make sure to RSVP by commenting on the blog post.

I’ll be coming down with some Laughing Squid stickers and if anyone who is going wants a Laughing Squid t-shirt, just let me know in advance what size you want and I’ll bring one down for you.

The last Lunch 2.0 event took place at the Mozilla headquarters in Mountain View and was a huge success.

Thanks Scott, we’re looking forward to seeing you there.

It would be great if you could bring some Squid Stickers to folks, this is an ‘open’ and friendly event.

Sure thing. I’ll bring stickers and even t-shrits for those who ping me in advance.
