For the London 2012 Olympics, Czech artist David Cerny gave giant mechanical arms to a traditional red double-decker bus, making it so it can do push-ups. The sculpture, which also features buttocks, is called the London Booster and when it operates it makes grunting noises and projects video on the bus windows (video). Cerny assembled the piece in Prague but has now brought it to Islington to Czech House and according to Metro, he is hoping it will be the “unofficial mascot of the Games”.

“It’s a workout that the workouts are done every athlete. It’s part of military training, and sometimes as a punishment, prisoners must do. Going into this project for the Czech House was a big challenge for me and I hope that in addition to humor and monstrosity offers double-decker and a certain amount of ambiguity and irony…” Black commented on his work.
