Lollipops, Cartoon Band Drawings by Craig Robinson

Craig Robinson has some great faceless, pixelated cartoon drawings of bands and musicians, which he calls Lollipops, over on his website Flip Flop Flyin’. It’s fun to try to figure out who they all are, if you get stuck, just mouse over the image.

This style of character-drawing began when I was asked by the British advertising agency Mother to work on their campaign for the Observer Music Magazine. That “Abba to Zappa” campaign was, delightfully, rather successful. Hurrah. You can see some of these characters in the original TV and poster campaign stuff in the portfolio section.

Here’s the “Abba to Zappa” ad that Craig created for the Observer Music Monthly.
