Live Painting of The Secret Room by Hugh D’Andrade

posted by Scott Beale on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

San Francisco artist and EFF designer Hugh D’Andrade was recently invited to do a live painting of a mural at the Mission Cultural Center. The subject of the mural was “The Secret Room” where the NSA conducted warrantless wiretapping at AT&T’s Folsom Street facility, resulting in EFF suing AT&T.

EFF’s Chris Contolini and Richard Esguerra made a time lapse video of Huge painting the mural, featuring the song “Master of Skandal” by Skandalo Publico.

    Hello Scott et al,
Oct.11 is Freedom Not Fear - Worldwide Day Of Action against excessive surveillance by governments and businesses. On 11 October 2008, concerned people in many countries will take to the streets, the motto being "Freedom not fear 2008". Peaceful and creative action, from protest marches to parties, will take place in many capital cities.

You can read an EFF deep links blog post on it...

And/or for a more surreal glimpse of the scenarios,
    check the XL Terrestrial reports.

Also starting on Oct.11 from 13:00h CET, Radio1984 ( + Mikro.fm + C-base) reports on the global scoops LIVE from Berlin

    Spread the word! ciao, p.
