TV Sitcom Houses

Dan Meth created a chart breaking down the orientation of Kitchens and Living Rooms in houses on popular TV sitcoms. It’s the second in his series of Pop-Cultural Charts.

I was about to post that the Happy Days orientation was WRONG, but then I remembered that they used different camera angles at different times in the series. The way I mostly remember it was facing the INTERIOR of the house and the kitchen was on the left. And, yes, I watched too much TV as a child.

Facts Of Life… Living/Kitchen

Then there is Everybody Loves Raymond..kitchen/living room..
Raymond’s parent’s Kitchen/- Living

King Of Queens… Living room / kitchen

Seinfeld …..Living / Kitchen

Two And A Half Men….. Living / kitchen

I think the more interesting question is how does Arrested Development fit into the chart?

Not really possible with the move to single-camera sitcoms.

Maybe if we work from the most commonly-used angles we can work it out as Living Room / Kitchen
