Kinetic Steam Works

Kinetic Steam Works is currently preparing to bring some of their steam powered kinetic art to Coachella so they are having a KSW Pre-Coachella Steam-Up this Saturday at NIMBY in Oakland.

Kinetic Steam Works, a Bay Area collective dedicated to steam powered kinetic art, came together in 2005 to explore and repurpose the artifacts of clockwork modernity. We are a small and growing group of industrial artists curious about what came before the advent of petroleum power, electronics, and the automobile culture.

Kinetic Steam Works will host dynamic demonstrations of steam power with a collection of repurposed vintage equipment driving interactive sculptures just days before their appearance at the Coachella festival in the Palm Springs desert.

KSW is currently looking for more artists to collaborate with.
