Early jet pack demonstration footage is featured in this archived 1966 British Pathé short video clip titled Jump Jet. The video shows a man in a white suit being strapped into a jet pack during some sort of press conference, demonstrating the jet pack in action and then racing a Grand Prix race car down the Brands Hatch racetrack in Kent, UK. Note: one of the men attending to the astronaut has ‘Bell Aerosystems / Textron / Rocket Belt Team‘ on the back of his jacket – presumably the makers or developers of the invention.
