Josh Wolf on The Colbert Report

by Scott Beale on June 13, 2007 · 16 comments

Controversial video blogger Josh Wolf, who was released from jail in April, was a guest on The Colbert Report last night. Josh and Stephen had a hilarious debate about if bloggers should be considered members of the press or not. Here’s the segment featuring Josh Wolf.

UPDATE: Josh Wolf’s new blog Media Sphere just launched on CNET.

I saw this earlier. I posted a comment to Josh’s blog but it was having issues with WP-comments. Anyway, I was saying that I certainly hope that colbert apologized behind the scenes for being a complete ass and that he was only try to make funnies. If not, I am completely done with viewing Colbert in any fashion because he completely put down everything Josh Wolf was doing. Even the audience was booing.

Adam, you clearly don’t understand Colbert’s humor.

holy Sh*#!! Josh is going to be a deadly journalist, no doubt about it !

Only in his early 20s and he’s able to flip the tv semi(idi-)otic into a near meltdown… did he just compare Colbert to Charles Manson??! wicked turnaround, bizarre enough to turn the studio “laugh track” bots into a stunned silence.

I’ve only seen this Colbert schtik a few times ( Eff’s Barlow was a bit too slow to catch the rhythm of the game ). Some progressive media ppl seem to think this and John Stewart are a life-raft in a flood of propoganda and spewing vacuousness, but the last time i watched Stewart i noticed he is the perfect sponge for anger against the bozo-bush and all the army of clowns behind em, which just makes people laugh about the daily horrors, but has actually zero value towards doing anything about it… in other words perfect rat trap infotainment.

anyways, rip it up Josh !

Thanks Thomas. I’ve seen him do much more respectable interviews [colbert] where he doesn’t bash the guests. I watch him all of the time but i just felt that it was over the top.

Hi Josh, thanks for commenting; there’s actually a few of us (Josh Wolf’s) that have done some cool stuff that has gained national attention. One of us ran for Congress in Ohio and is now working on the Clinton campaign, another had a nice little run in Last Comic Standing, and of course the soccer star as well (though he spells Wolf with two “f”s.
