New Wave surrealist writer J.G. Ballard, author of “Crash” and “The Atrocity Exhibition”, has passed away at age 78 after battling a long illness.

Our friend V. Vale of RE/Search Publications was in close contact with Ballard over the years and wrote several books about him.

The RE/Search book on Ballard had a huge influence on me–it was one of the top 5 reasons I moved to SF in 1989. It remains one of my most prized books.
