It’s Okay to Be Smart Attempts to Explain the Existence of Time

In the latest installment of It’s Okay to Be Smart, host Joe Hanson attempts to explain the existence of time. The answer may have something to do with entropy, which is to say that everything around us seems to be getting more chaotic. This notion also happens to be in line with British astronomer Arthur Eddington‘s concept of the arrow of time.

Why know that today is different than yesterday, but why? Physicists sway the universe tends toward disorder. A great arrow of time points toward a future in which entropy is greater than it was in the past. Probably.
