While having lunch in the writing shed, Kesey pulled a thick notebook off a shelf and said, "take a look at this, I sent Hunter Thompson this book I was working on to review and he sent it back like this". The only comment was the notebook had six large bullet holes in it. Last century, I was at Ken Kesey’s farm in Oregon preparing for a Bus trip to the UK.
