One of the last SXSW panels on Sunday was “How to Grow Online Community”. Molly Wright Steenson moderated an excellent discussion on the challenges and rewards of building online communities with Craig Newmark, as in the Craig in craigslist, and Matt Haughey, the man behind the curtain at MetaFilter. I might add that all three of the panelists are San Franciscans, which I think says something about why San Francisco has been such a great place for the development online culture and community.
