I was on a late flight from LAX to Chicago MDW (also Southwest Airlines) and enjoyed similar pre-flight safety announcement. Too bad I didn’t recorded it (especially the part about ‘smoking seats located on a left wing’ or ‘while helping your children with their oxygen mask always choose this more privileged one first’)

Wow. In my whole life I have never heard the passengers of an airplane clap for the crew after they gave that boring speech. This should be the standard for all airlines.

Flying sucks – and this guy made it a bit more enjoyable. There is a conductor on the NYC subway who did something similar. He was up for a promotion to tower desk and was denied because he couldn’t follow the rules that said “no deviations” from the standard speak.

Isn’t life about smiling and I bet everyone who got on this plane in a grumpy mood smiled.
