When I need emergency bagels fedexed, I call Ess-a-Bagel. Montague Street Bagels in Brooklyn Heights is worth noting too. BUT, the best bagels in all of North America <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montreal_bagel" rel="nofollow">come from Montreal</a>. Once you try one you'll agree -- it's no contest, really. Since Montreal is a bit out of the way, I propose that the second-best bagels in North America come from our own <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/telstar/1097428354/" rel="nofollow">Stewart Butterfield, who makes them here in SF in the Montreal style</a>. Respectfully, I must beg to differ.
