Hell’s Angel Confronts Hunter S. Thompson About His Book in a 1967 CBC Broadcast

Just after the publication his controversial book Hell’s Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs, author Hunter S. Thompson appeared on a 1967 CBC broadcast where he was confronted by a very calm and rational, albeit annoyed Skip Workman, a loyal Hell’s Angel who rode into the the theater on his Harley and in his colors. Unfortunately, the Gonzo journalist wasn’t given enough time to respond to Workman’s accusations.

In this clip from 1967, Hunter S.Thompson comes face to face with a member of the Hell’s Angels. Thompson became known internationally for his book “Hell’s Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs”. He spent a year living and riding with the Angels, experiencing their lives and hearing their stories first hand. The biker says 60% of the book is “cheap trash”
