Harold Ramis (1944–2014), Actor, Writer and Director

Harold Ramis died on February 24, 2014 of complications from autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis at the age of 69 in Chicago, Illinois. He is survived by his wife and three children.

Harold Ramis, an alum of Second City Television and National Lampoon’s Radio Hour, was an extremely talented and prolific writer whose credits include such classics as National Lampoon’s Animal House, Stripes, Ghostbusters, Caddyshack and Groundhog Day. Harold also appeared in and directed some of aforementioned movies along with such other films as As Good As It Gets and The Ice Harvest. More recently, Harold directed the film Year One along with episodes of The Office and had provided the voice for Ghostbusters: The Video Game.

Rest in Peace Mr. Ramis. Your voice will be missed.
