Fido to go

Food trucks for dogs have been started by a few savvy small business owners across the United States. There’s the Sit ‘N Stay Pet Cafe in Orlando, Florida, operated by two sisters, which serves “truly healthy gourmet treats” using “human-grade, locally sourced, organic, natural and humanely raised/harvested ingredients.” In Chicago, there’s Fido to go, a “gourmutt” food truck that caters to dogs by serving “hand-crafted, gluten and allergen-free canine cookies & doggy ice creams/frozen yogurts.” In Elizabeth, New Jersey, there’s the Frosty Pooch, an ice cream truck which also offers other treats like bones and cookies. And in Austin, Texas, there’s Bow-Wow Chow which sells a “variety of all natural, preservative free, locally baked, fresh pet treats as well as specialty treats, such as Doggie Ice Cream.” NBC News Business recently featured these businesses in an article titled, “Doggie food trucks fetch company profits.”
