‘Ghost Ship’, An Eerie Apparition of a 17th-Century Ship Projected With Water on a Canal in Amsterdam

Ghost Ship

The ghostly apparition of a 17th-century sailing ship floats on a canal in Amsterdam in the installation Ghost Ship by Romanian architecture studio visualSKIN. The ship’s form is projected on two intersecting “water curtains.” The two projections add a sense of depth to the ghost ship illusion. Part of the Amsterdam Light Festival, the installation is on display in the waters off ARCAM Amsterdam Center for Architecture and The National Maritime Museum through January 18, 2015.
