Garysguide San Francisco

Garysguide is a really great technology and new media events calendar started in New York by Gary (aka The Guy with the Red Tie). Gary recently launched Garysguide in San Francisco, rounding out his list of 11 top tech cities.

Our popular calendar is a comprehensive edited list of all upcoming events related to technology, web 2.0, social media, online advertising & marketing, software, hardware, digital video, new media, entrepreneurship, startups and much much more. We are currently live in 11 of the top tech hubs in the country including New York, Boston, Washington DC, Chicago, Los Angeles, Austin, San Diego, Denver, Portland, Seattle, Toronto and the San Francisco Bay Area.

I just signed up. Let's think about what event lists I go to now.

1. Squidlist
2. Upcoming
3. Facebook
4. Pownce
5. Valleywag Calendar
6. Gary's List

Sigh.

Scott, what makes this site so good? Yahoo's Upcoming has way more events and way more people. Why do we need yet another event calendar? http://upcoming.yahoo.com/user/138148/

People have been saying this kind of thing forever. I've been running The Squid List long before Upcoming was around and Craig Newmark has been running Craigslist longer than The Squid List. Based on your logic, we should all be still using Craigslist for events. Of course you're leaving out things like Facebook and the dozens of other services with event listings. My suggestion, use the services that work best for you.
