Garth Hudson of The Band Returns to the House That Inspired the Beloved ‘Music From the Big Pink’ Album

In honor of the recent reissue of the Bob Dylan demo collection The Basement Tapes, Rolling Stone brought The Band organist Garth Hudson back to the Big Pink, the house in West Saugerties, New York where that album and the landmark Music From the Big Pink were recorded. The Band backed Dylan on the record as well as serving as his live backup group for his first electric tour, prior to releasing their debut.

Still pink. Hasn’t faded.

Before the end of the video, Hudson sits down to play the house’s piano one final time.
