‘Ganovce’, A Swirling Motion Collage of a Small Slovakian Village

“Ganovce” is a motion collage by Russian artist Taras Gesh which captures the small Slovakian village of Ganovce where traces of a Neanderthal skeleton were discovered — the site of which serves as the the center of the piece. The collage was designed to capture all of the artist’s favorite elements of the village in a single work.

I had the idea to make one large composition, which could accommodate all its attractions. Lately I have been studying the possibility of using classical painting techniques within video. The result is not a sequence of frames, but canvas for moving composition that turns into a picture
