Future of Money, A Docu-Series That Explores the Positive Forces in the Evolution of Money

Noted futurist and financial transactions expert Heather Schlegel (aka Heathervescent) is working on a television docu-series titled Future of Money which will explore the “evolution of money in six major aspects: Payment Transactions, Banking, Bartering, Credit Lending, Money Making and International Monetary System.” She says, “It’s based on my research since 2010. I’m tired of the doom and gloom fear based mentality expressed about our economy. We live in abundant times, the future can be even more abundant if we let it be.”

The series has already been greenlighted by an international distributor who plans to distribute the series worldwide but only if interview footage from “global experts from different fields – esteemed economists, journalists, bankers, innovation and business leaders, and well-known authors” — is gathered. To fund the filming of these crucial interviews, she is currently raising funds on Kickstarter. Heather is an amazing and talented person and a longtime friend of mine. I have personally backed the project.

The past 3 years have been filled with many new technology innovations. I know as a futurist, that the future is full of possibilities – but most people don’t see how things can work out positively for them. And it doesn’t help that we have a lot of negative baggage and fear around the topic of money and finance. I want to change that. I want to put a spotlight on the amazing financial innovations that will improve our lives.

Here is a video she made in 2010 that imagines how a group of friends will pay for dinner in the future:

“Four Friends pay for dinner in the future using integrated mobile payments, credit cards, private coins and corporate space currency; while their waiter is saving/earning enough space currency to win a sub-orbit space trip.”
