I wish the the Fry’s in Austin had some special theme other than big box store. I feel left out.

You have made me very, very homesick.

My mate and I lived in Palo Alto for well over a year, and the SF south bay for about 6. This was the Fry’s we went to most often.

Now, we live in Australia. Which, on the plus side, has kangaroos and wallabies and poisonous toads. On the downside, it doesn’t have Fry’s. :(

Sadly, our nearest Fry’s (up in Portland, OR, or at least in a suburb thereof) has the ever-imaginative theme of “Warehouse store”.

The best Frys is Burbank Frys which is set in the middle of an alien invasion. There's actually a giant octopus (or squid!?!) on the inside of one of the walls.

Wow, I thought Fry’s was pretty amazing just as it was (see Alex Brown comment ;) )… I never noticed a “theme” in our Irving, TX one. I must say I find the theme description to be dubious as well. (pays tribute to *what’s* history?) I will certainly take a closer look next time, though!

All of Fry’s Electronics stores are amazing. They are huge, have everything any geek would ever want, and are all very entertainingly themed. The deals there are always the best, although the non-sale prices are rarely anything special. The employees don’t know anything though, so bring a real geek with you if you aren’t one. UFO crashed into the front of the building > Western theme.

The Fry’s in Webster, TX is pretty amazing. In my opinion, it actually looks a heck of a lot more interesting than Space Center Houston (the visitor’s center for Johnson Space Center) ever has.
