Filmmaker Casey Neistat and Son Visit Tropical Islands Resort, A German Water Park Housed in a Massive Airship Hangar

Filmmaker Casey Neistat and his son Owen visited the Tropical Islands Resort in his latest video, a tropical-themed indoor water park housed in a massive former airship hangar near Berlin. The hanger, originally built by airship manufacturer CargoLifter AG in the early 2000s, measures a staggering 1,181 feet in length and is 351 feet high.

The structure is one of the world’s largest buildings by volume and the largest single hall without internal supporting pillars. After CargoLifter AG went bankrupt in 2002, the hangar was sold and converted into the water park, which opened in 2004.
