Bamboo, lead singer of the anisong band milktub, teamed up with Tokyo Otaku Mode and Studio696 of Japan to create a line of fierce and fashionable hoodies that resemble sets of Japanese samurai armor. They are currently raising funds on Indiegogo to help produce the deadly-looking hoodies.

It all started a few years ago when we stumbled upon an online article displaying a hoodie based on a Western suit of armor. “What a fantastic product,” we thought. “How come there isn’t one based on traditional Japanese armor?” We wanted one so badly that we searched all over the internet, but apparently such apparel did not exist in Japan.

For 2 years, we designed prototype after prototype, until finally, in the winter of 2015, it was completed and scheduled for release. The hoodies were released at 32,000 Yen in Japan, and before we knew it, they were completely sold out. Now, with this campaign, we would like to bring a further improved version of these hoodies to fans around the world.
