‘Feel Flavour’, An Interactive Playable Poster That Uses a Smartphone as a Speaker

UK-based marketing agency Grey London created an interactive poster to promote herb and spice brand Schwartz’s “Sound of Taste” campaign. The “Feel Flavour” poster turns swatches of color into musical chords, which, when touched, send a signal to an embedded circuit board that is then transmitted to the player’s smartphone via Bluetooth. The result is a wall poster that you can play like an instrument.

Everything now seems to be on an iPad or iPhone. [You’re] looking at it on a screen. In a way, we’ve kind of “hacked” paper. We’re trying to figure out a way to get that interactivity back into print, so it works hand-in-hand with the digital world.

Previously Grey London created a “The Sound of Taste” ad for their Flavour Shots featuring slow motion video of exploding spice bags.
