while I’m super excited to see this, I’m deeply disappointed they didn’t link to you. I link to you all the time from my SFGate (SF Chronicle) column so there’s no logical reason for it. except good old MSM ignorance in online practices and ethics (though I’d like to think it’s an oversight… sigh). and the quoting — that’s why I never do phone interviews anymore; I only do email interviews because olde-skool journalists are so prone to misquote or mischaracterize me, and as evidenced here, everyone they talk to. sheesh!

This indeed happened ! We were on our way to visit my father in Florida when we were told to take all objects with an “on/off” switch out of our bags and place them in the bins. It was truly a pain and an excellent opportunity to be marked for a mugging.

While I appreciate the recognition for Scott, I have to object to the quote the Examiner attributed to him as I know for a fact that he doesn’t ever speak like that.

What he did say, however, was “This is ridiculous. I need to write about this so other people know what’s going on”. And thus he did (along getting a picture to go with the post).
