Tyrant of Eyes

Worth 1000 recently ran a Photoshop contest for Dungeons & Dragons and one of the rules was that the image had to include a classic Beholder monster.

My favorite was the Tarot card themed entry “Tyrant of Eyes” by EotBeholder.

VERY nice! I love how it’s old-school. Call me crazy, but I loved the art that Erol Otus did for TSR back in the day, and this has that same feel to it.

Very cool! I also agree that the traditional art styles tend to have a little more consideration and depth to their feel. I don’t like the overprocessed “photoshoppy” looking ones. I always loved Tony DiTerlizzi’s illustrations in the AD&D Monstrous Manual…
Ahh the memories
