I would just like to encourage you not to judge a righteous God by the imperfect men that believe in him. Yes, there are hypocritical Christians (and unfortunately, often the most vocal ones), but we are all human after all. I believe if you looked at the man who was God here on earth (yes, the J word), your arguments about a God who is neglectful and incompassionate would not hold up. As for recognition and tolerance of other beliefs - those billboards were not forcing anything on you - you could choose to ignore them. I'm sorry you've been hurt by others. Being a believer in the Word of God though, I cannot "keep my beliefs to myself" because that goes against the foundations of our teachings to share God's love with others.
