Donald Scruggs, Inventor of the Screw-In Coffin on PBS Inventors

Photographer David Friedman recently interviewed Donald Scruggs, the inventor of the screw-in coffin. Scruggs’ patented coffin is shaped like an enormous screw and can be screwed into the earth for burial. Friedman has been interviewing and photographing inventors for his ongoing Inventor Portrait series—this interview is the debut episode for his new collaboration with PBS Digital Studios: INVENTORS. We previously wrote about Friedman’s interviews with Ralph Baer, the father of video games, and Steven Sasson, the inventor of the digital camera.
