Determined Lawyer Reclaims His Record For Fastest Time to Travel to Every NYC Subway Station

Once lawyer Matthew Anh, the 2015 record holder for the fastest time to travel to every subway station within New York City, found his record was nullified because the new Hudson Yards 7 station opened in September 2015, he set about doing it all over again. The New York Times tagged along with Anh as he went on to beat his own best time and claim his own title once again.

Mr. Ahn, 25, completed the trek in 21 hours, 28 minutes and 14 seconds. Throughout the journey, Mr. Ahn, a lawyer by day, had to adhere to a strict set of rules established by Guinness and meticulously compile proof — including witness signatures and time-stamped photographs — for the judges. Mr. Ahn broke his own record from 2015 — clocking in 21 minutes and 21 seconds faster — that had been nullified after the new Hudson Yards station opened later that year.
