After almost 10 years brilliantly hosting the award-winning Late Late Show on CBS, the incredible Craig Ferguson opened his final show with a composite of all of his monologues beginning with the first broadcast in 2005 through the present.
Later on in the show, many of Craig’s guests throughout the years came back to perform the Dead Man Fall song “Bang Your Drum” with him.
Craig finally put his role to bed by first unveiling Secretariat as a the incredible Bob Newhart, who informs Craig that the entire series was all a dream, reminiscent of the 1990 finale of his own Newhart series. The scene then fades into Craig waking up in bed with comedian Drew Carey, a snow globe on the night table and the Journey song “Don’t Stop Believin’” playing on the radio before the entire scene all cuts to black, respective nods to the 1988 St. Elsewhere finale and The Sopranos finale in 2007. Simply brilliant.
