London artist Alma Haser achieves a most curious effect in her portrait series “Cosmic Surgery” by replacing the faces of her subjects with origami. She creates the images by first photographing the subject normally. She uses multiple prints of the person’s face to make a piece of origami art. Then she places the origami over the original face in the portrait, which she then re-photographs.
