It swerved around the street insanely, forcing traffic and pedestrians to scatter, and one of my students, who was deeply interested in Thomas Hobbes' theories on interstate politics said, "wow - that's what happens when you try to deal with international politics democratically, isn't it?" I was so proud, and slightly disconcerted.
