China Is Starting to Fight Its Smog Problem With Large and Expensive Mist Cannons

A story by Quartz shows that some areas in China have begun fighting the country’s smog problem using large, expensive mist cannons that pull large particles out of the air with water vapor. The canons are effective at taking down large particles, but as the video points out, they do little against the much smaller particles that can pose serious health risks.

A separate video in Chinese includes more footage of smog in China as well as a more detailed look at the mist cannon.
