in that article, they say "burning man followers" and "burners" like
creatives and risk takers are members of burning man, not participants,
much like a terrorist cell or political party. this is complete spittle fueled pablum.
burning man is an event where once a year (like a dirty comic convention) where
people go to show off what theyre doing independently or in their own likeminded groups.
what chicken is doing has nothing to do with a once a year event.
he was doing crazy stuff before and after B Man. so will the crucible, so will
and has the Cacophany.
the article's slant towards the cult of burning man, grouping all groups or artists who go to an event in the dessert once a year as minions of the event is insulting.
I like burning man, but it seems to only be "a way of life" the way Live 105 is "alternative Programming"
its ironic that free thinking, mischievous, do it your self reliance gets branded as "burner's community" and then diluted by the "everyone is an artist (more like audience) for a week'
I like Burning man. its better than TV. and its an awesome spectacle.
But im not going to standby and let all that is strange, bizarre, and thought provoking, and/or stupid be lumped underthe heading: Burningman Artists.
People who really start a ruckus arent inspired by burning man to go start crazy radio stations, canoe thru traffic, start secret societies, wear socks on their ears
shouldnt be branded by the Burningman ® brand branding iron.
Inspired people go do things at burning man and ELSEWHERE.
those who define their lives by single parties in a dessert are in need of ANYthing to show them some light thru the clutter and missed their chance through the Boy scouts or 4H club after their step dad molested them.
