‘Chick Flick the Musical’, A New Off-Broadway Show That Celebrates Female Friendship

I gotta watch a chick flick!

Chick Flick the Musical is a new off-broadway play in New York City that honors female friendship while paying tribute to the much maligned film genre. It follows the lives and friendships of four women.

Chick Flick the Musical is about the importance of friends helping you deal with your regular shit. You know, the regular shit that builds up and backs up on you when you don’t deal with it. Being honest with your friends lets you be honest with yourself and move forward. Because Friendship is the Best Medicine.

The musical is written by Suzy Conn (Suffra-Jets, The Mercer Girls) and directed by Mary Kate Burke with musical direction by Seth Weinstein. It stars Jenna Leigh Green (Wicked, Sabrina The Teenage Witch), Luba Mason (Chicago, Jekyll and Hyde), Trisha Rapier (Sister Act, The Boy From Oz), and Haley Swindal (Jekyll and Hyde, White Christmas).

Chick Flick the Musical opens this Thursday, February 13th, running through February 15th at Loft227 in Chelsea. Tickets are available online through Brown Paper Tickets.
