Celebrating the 125th Birthday of Pizza With Pizzas Delivered From Every Pizzeria In New York City

What better way to celebrate the 125th birthday of pizza (specifically the modern day Margherita pizza created by Raffaele Esposito) than with a giant pizza party featuring a pizza delivered by every pizzeria in New York City. This fantasy was brought to life by Matt Capucilli who came up with the original idea, along with Ronen V of $tandard ©reative and Mike Cirino of a razor, a shiny knife, with sponsorship by Shock Top Beer. Jonathan Mann of “A Song A Day” provided music and artist Thierry Van Biesen created a “Leaning Tower of Pizza” installation. And pizza. Lots and lots of pizza.

At $tandard ©reative, we threw Pizza a 125th Bday Party and ordered delivery from every pizzeria in NY (great idea, Matt Capucilli!) All made possible by Shock Top Brewery Co., who sponsored the project. Pizza was created on June 11, 1889 by hero genius Raffaele Esposito. We celebrated Pizza’s 125th birthday at our studio by ordering delivery from every pizzeria in New York.
