Tiny Bespectacled Yorkie Performs an Amazing Multitude of Wonderful Tricks

Misa Minnie, a tiny bespectacled yorkie who was recently certified as a therapy dog, performs a multitude of wonderful tricks with the encouragement of her human in this absolutely adorable video posted by MeSoMiniMisa.

After struggling the last year with my vision loss we finally were able to make a new trick video with my wonder dog Misa Minnie. :) This is dedicated to all the people that helped us out this year. Misa Minnie is a 1 1/2 year old Yorkie in this video that is trained with positive reinforcement and lots of treats. She lives in Sunny California where she is home trained and is now officially a Therapy Dog for children and people in hospice.

It looks like Misa’s learned quite a bit since her very early game of patty-cake over a year ago.

Earth Unplugged Explores Whether or Not Animals Have Accents

Maddie Moate of Earth Unplugged explores evidence that states that animals, like humans, can have different accents that vary upon location.

The UK’s yellowhammer is a prime example of a multi-accent species. These bright yellow small birds tend not to leave their own areas, so ornithologists have confirmed that they have particularly thick accents. Widespread throughout the UK, this species’ song differs in terms of tone and pitch, depending upon which part of the country it is found. It can also add different phrases to its song, depending on its local region and dialect.

Leatherdos, A Multi-Function Multi-Tool Metal Hair Clip

Leatherdos is a multi-function utilitarian metal clip that functions as a screw driver, wrench, trolley coin, ruler and saw that was created by designer Yaacov Goldberg, a student in the department of Industrial Design at Holon Institute of Technology. Although the Leatherdos was originally designed to hold in place a kippah (traditional head cap worn by Jewish men), it can easily work as a hair clip or even be attached to a key chain so that it’s readily available.

Leatherdos can be purchased at Monkey Business or through Amini Causa for less than $10.
