You know they don't make a dime on the show, there is NO corporate sponsorship. If anything they loose money, especially since the cost of renting the hall and electricity to power the whole smash has more than doubled in recent years. Not to mention the cost of hauling all of these games these days. Have you moved full size arcade uprights before? How much do you drop at a Dave & Buster's on half a dozen games inside of half an hour? Seriously, support the men and women that support keeping the memory of the arcade era alive.

I'd hardly call the $35 (for saturday) or $30 (for sunday) or $60 (weekend pass) needed for admission to be “where you can play all of the games for free”

And watching the documentary King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters (IMDB link below) would really set the mood for CalExtreme. Highly, highly recommended movie .. even for those without an interest in barrel jumping and pixel shooting.
