Cable Untangling Championships, A Speedcabling Competition

On the latest episode of Boing Boing TV, Xeni visits the Cable Untangling Championships which took place on February 8th at Machine Project in Los Angeles. Speedcabling (or simply “Cabling”) is a sport created by Steven Schkolne where competitors race each other to untangle CAT 5 Ethernet cables. Here are the rules.

I think I’d rather compete in the 802.11 division

i’d like to see them untangle fiber optic cable. It’s made with glass and easily cracks so it can’t bend past a certain degree. Untangle 1000 feet of fiber in the fastest time without damaging the cable. I’d pay do see that.
