In the colorful photo series “Black Hole,” photographer Fabian Oefner created circular paint patterns by spinning paint with a power drill. To create the images, Oefner applied paint to a cylinder attached to a drill. The drill was rigged to a camera with a high speed flash—the spinning paint in the photos was captured milliseconds after the drill was activated. Oefner shows the process in this video.
