Bird Buggy, A Parrot-Controlled Robotic Vehicle

In an effort to keep his African Grey Parrot occupied (and quiet), University of Florida engineering student Andrew Gray built the bird a robotic Bird Buggy. The vehicle is controlled by a special joystick that the bird can manipulate with its beak (video). To keep the parrot on track, the Bird Buggy features bump sensors and infrared collision sensors. And once the parrot dismounts, the Bird Buggy can autonomously return it its dock.
