“Binaudios” is a giant binocular-like contraption at the Sage Gateshead concert venue in Newcastle that lets participants listen to different sounds of the city depending on where they aim the device. The interactive sound installation does not play live sounds; rather, it selects from a library of recent and historical recordings of the city. “Binaudios” was created by artist Dominic Wilcox and creative technologist James Rutherford for the Thinking Digital Arts 2014 festival back in May.
