BayLeaks is a newly launched whistleblowing site that allows sources to anonymously provide tips to San Francisco Bay Area journalists. The site was created by the San Francisco Committee of Vigilance and the San Francisco Bay Guardian and is powered by the SecureDrop whistleblowing platform and the Tor anonymity network. The San Francisco Bay Guardian has more on the launch of BayLeaks.
Our aims are simple: to deploy systems of mass transparency to defend the public trust, and expose the plans of powerful actors who would shape the fate of the city while hidden from democratic scrutiny.
