‘Battleborn’, A ‘Hero-Shooter’ Video Game From ‘Borderlands’ Developer Gearbox Software

Battleborn is a “hero-shooter” video game by Gearbox Software, developer of the “shooter-looter” video game franchise Borderlands. Details are sparse just yet for the newly announced title, but it is scheduled to feature first-person shooting, co-op combat, a narrative campaign, and competitive multiplayer matches.

It’s unclear what exactly is meant by having “several different competitive multiplayer match types” and the like, but there’s speculation that Battleborn may well turn out to be a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) like League of Legends in some ways.

In Battleborn’s distant future, the only hope for the last star in a dying universe is a new breed of warriors, who must put aside their differences to drive back an unstoppable menace. Choose from a myriad of powerful heroes and fight together alongside your friends in an intense co-operative campaign, or battle against them in fast-paced competitive multiplayer matches.
