With the passing of Tolly, his beloved Russian blue, artist Richard Saunders created a wonderfully surreal memorial that memorializes Tolly as a giant virtual topiary who adorns lavish English gardens in a variety of poses.
I am a Surrealist Artist and have worked in oils for years. With the advent of computers and Photoshop I began creating photo-montages. ‘The Topiary Cat’ is an ongoing project to bring life to this popular character, based on our late Russian Blue cat, Tolly.
