ArtCar Fest

Part 2 of ArtCar Fest 2005 takes place this weekend (Part 1 was last month). Here’s the full schedule.

On Friday night (October 14th), the art cars will be at the San Jose Museum of Art for the annual Cultural Xposure event. There will be numerous bands and DJ’s, including a performance by the Phenomenauts.

In conjunction with what is becoming an SJMA annual event, Cultural Xposure has been revved up with additional art — ArtCars that is. Come feast your eyes on everything from banana and stiletto cars to Mondrian inspired moving masterpieces. And take the opportunity to get in the spirit while kicking off your Halloween festivities: dust off an old costume or put together something new and get down to SJMA to shake your booty, strut your stuff and celebrate the arts.

Saturday afternoon (October 15th) is Art Car FamilyFest at San Jose Museum of Art.

The cars will be on view downtown on the Plaza and in the Museum. Throughout the day guests will be able to view the cars, talk to the artists, create hands-on art activities, visit the galleries, and enjoy some refreshments. Entertainment will be provided for the whole family. Toward the later part of the day the Museum will present a costume contest.
