An Anxious Blind Goat Finds Peace and Tranquility Whenever She Wears Her Fuzzy Ducky Costume

A little blind rescue goat named Polly who suffers from acute anxiety whenever she feels alone, has found certain relief from a child’s fuzzy ducky costume that her human Leanne Lauricella found for her while shopping for a Halloween costume. The outfit offers Polly a sense of sweet security that lulls her into a trance-like state. Only Lauricella and another goat named Pocket can provide her with that same comfort.

Some of y’all don’t believe me. Polly loves her duck suit. Polly NEEDS her duck suit. It puts her right to sleep. Tonight she was feeling anxious because I’m too busy to sit with her. I put her duck suit on and she’s totally happy. It instantly soothes her! Its the strangest cutest thing. This is not abuse, this is love.

Polly lives at Goats of Anarchy, a New Jersey sanctuary that provides homes to goats with special needs. Lauricella is currently raising funds to start a second location to house the many goats who need her help.

I have no veterinary training and no medical background but for some strange reason, I feel a strong calling to rescue and rehabilitate baby goats with special needs. It’s what I love and it’s what fulfills me. I’ve been surprised by how these babies are touching the hearts of people all over the world. These special little baby goats are changing lives and they don’t even know it. Goats of Anarchy is becoming so much more than what I could have ever dreamed. It’s thrilling and terrifying at the same time. I thought I would stay small, but clearly, that is not in the cards for GOA. There are just too many baby goats with special needs and not near enough rescues with the ability to take on the demands.
