Amazon Unveils Amazon Fire TV, A New Set-Top Box Featuring Streaming Video, Music, and Video Games

Online retailer Amazon today unveiled the Amazon Fire TV, a set-top box featuring streaming video, music, and video games. The Fire TV connects to HDTVs and streams media of all kinds, including Amazon Instant Video and music from Pandora. Video games can also be played via the Fire TV with the help of a special controller that is sold separately.

The Fire TV is powered by a Qualcomm quad-core processor, includes 2GB of memory, supports Bluetooth, and can connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. This is the first device of its kind from Amazon, and the base package comes with the box, the remote, batteries for said remote, and a power adapter. The Amazon Fire TV is currently available via Amazon.
